OpenAI has appointed Dali Rajic as Chief Revenue Officer as the company expands from widespread product adoption into a larger enterprise business.
Rajic previously held senior customer, revenue, and operating roles at AppDynamics, Zscaler, and Wiz. Those companies grew during his tenures, but their outcomes belong to entire teams and market conditions. The more responsible signal is the operating work he was hired to own.
His record centers on the complete customer lifecycle
When Zscaler appointed Rajic in 2019, it highlighted his work at AppDynamics across engagement, pre-sales, sales, services, and customer success. Zscaler later promoted him from president of go-to-market and Chief Revenue Officer to chief operating officer.
That progression suggests a bias toward connecting demand, sales execution, delivery, adoption, renewal, and internal systems rather than treating revenue as a sales target alone.
OpenAI now needs commercial repeatability
OpenAI says it serves more than two million businesses alongside a consumer product used by more than one billion people each week. At that scale, growth depends on more than model launches.
Enterprise customers need clear packaging, procurement support, implementation partners, account ownership, customer success, usage expansion, and predictable handoffs between product and commercial teams. Global growth also requires metrics and process without turning every deal into bureaucracy.
Expect a tighter revenue operating system
Rajic's background points toward more disciplined segmentation, partner routes, customer-lifecycle design, and lead-to-cash operations. It may also mean clearer accountability for whether enterprise adoption becomes durable usage rather than a signed contract.
This is an inference from his prior roles, not a disclosed OpenAI reorganization plan. The test will be whether the company can convert exceptional demand into a commercial system that stays responsive as it scales.
